12T and 12T Pro

Make moments mega, is the motto of choice from Xiaomi's new 12T range, with a standard and pro version of the 12T coming to the market. Yesterday at Xiaomi's event in Munich, announced the 12T Pro would retail at £699 and the 12T Pro stands out being only the second phone ever to have a 200Mp primary camera sensor. In that regard, it’s hot on the heels of the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, the first phone to use Samsung’s Isocell HP1 200Mp sensor. Xiaomi says the 12T Pro’s 200Mp sensor will improve image clarity, focus and low-light performance. With this great feature does come a slight interference, as a higher megapixel count doesn’t guarantee better photos. The more pixels you add to a camera means that it will reduce the amount of light captured, so darker areas could face an issue.

Along with the 12TPro came the 12T Standard version, which will retail for a bit less at £499. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra; the 12T Pro opts for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. With these cheap prices in mind and the fact that both phones are using processors that are up-to-date and pretty flagship, despite their relatively low prices. So you should expect great performance from both phones, especially when combined with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. However, despite the 12T having the main camera lens of 108Mp, which is more pixels than on most phones. The other cameras only come with 8Mp ultra-wide, 2Mp macro and 20Mp selfie sensors, showing where corners were cut to reach the low price points, and this is for both the 12T and the 12T Pro. What is also cool is Xiaomi says you will get up to 13.5* hours of screen time. You also get ultra-fast 120W wired charging, which supposedly delivers a full charge in just 19 minutes and as a bonus, the relevant adapter comes free in the box. Both phones run the MIUI skin over Android 12, but with plans to update to Android 13 which is in full preparation. Availability has yet to be announced.

Redmi Pad

Though the iPad is the dominant force in the tablet market, Xiaomi sets to take on a different league with its announcement of the Redmi Pad, which could be the best Android tablet for those looking on a budget. The Redmi Pad's top feature is the addition of the Dolby Atmos ready speakers, which will provide a great audio experience. Mix that with a 10.61" display with a 90Hz refresh rate and blue-light reduction built in and you've got the ultimate entertainment device, all for the retail price of £269. Featuring an SGS low visual fatigue certification also markets this as a great choice for children. Essentially, this makes it less tiring to look at the screen and is less strenuous on the eyes.

Xiaomi has also not slacked with their camera here either, with a respectable 8MP offering both on the front and back camera. Whilst it is far from anything spectacular, it is a handy feature should you see something that is Instagram-worthy whilst in use. FocusFrame technology that has been implemented will also complement video calls making it a good option for work too.
The tablet is capable of fast charging, with it holding an 8,000mAh battery and options for RAM and storage come in 3GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB. Should you feel like a different colour, there are three different colours to choose from – Graphite Grey, Moonlight Silver, and Mint Green. Availability has yet to be announced.

The Redmi Buds 4 are powered by 10mm dual dynamic drivers. The earbuds have a compact design featuring intuitive touch controls. For connectivity, The Redmi Buds 4 uses Bluetooth v5.2 and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. They have a battery life of up to six hours and can offer an hour of playtime after just five minutes of charging. Combined with the charging case, the earbuds have a battery life of up to 30 hours.

The Redmi Buds 4 Pro include a 10-mm + 6-mm dual driver design, which delivers Hi-Res Audio and LDAC at 990 kbit/s when paired with an Android device. The earbuds support AAC and SBC codecs as well. Furthermore, the TWS earbuds feature active noise cancellation (ANC), which reduces background noise by up to 43 decibels. ANC levels can also be customized using the Light, Balanced, and Deep modes. Prices for the Redmi Bud 4 will be £49.99 and Redmi Bud 4 Pro will be retailed at £89.99. Two colour options are available – Midnight Black and Moon White. Availability has yet to be announced.

So there you have the three main releases from Xiaomi, whilst other releases included a new TV and Vacuum Range, we felt these three were the ones to highlight most. Whilst all don't have an official release date, you can expect them to drop officially around the end of October!
