FAQs
Is the iPad 2 worth buying?
The iPad 2 was released in 2011 and production stopped in 2013. Although there are newer iPads available now such as the iPad 4, the iPad 2 remains popular due to its low cost compared to newer devices and is worth buying if you are looking for a cheaper option.
The iPad 2, like all Apple products, is robust and generally has a long life span.
You should be aware that if you buy an iPad 2, it can't run iOS 10 or higher operating systems. Meaning your iPad 2 will not receive the same type of features added to the operating system every year that newer models would.
How much does it cost to repair an iPad 2?
The cost of fixing your device will depend on what condition your tablet is in and what needs to be fixed.
To get it fixed without having AppleCare, it will cost anywhere from £100 - £300:- even to fix a broken screen and therefore it could cost more than your device was to buy in the first place.
If you do have AppleCare, it will be significantly cheaper to fix.
The third option, and often the cheapest option (even with delivery) for customers is to buy your replacement part online from a repair outlet.
We stock the products needed to fix your device to avoid the high costs of Apple's repair charges!
Does the iPad 2 have a warranty?
The iPad 2 comes with a one-year warranty, like all Apple products. However, after one year your device is no longer covered.
If you bought your device second-hand then the retailer you buy it from may provide you with their own type of after-sales coverage. This will depend on each brand or seller.
All the iPad 2 parts we stock are covered with a one-year guarantee, meaning that if something goes wrong we'll replace your item for free!
What replacement parts are available for the iPad 2?
A lot of the time your device is easily fixed by replacing a part! We stock different categories of items for your iPad 2.
There is a selection of different categories of parts to chose from including, screens, batteries, front and rear cameras, headphone jacks, volume, lock and mute buttons, sim card holder ports and replacement touch screen digitisers.
Many people don't realise that most cosmetic damages can be replaced easily. Browse our different categories of items to fix your iPad 2, cheap and hassle-free!
What are the signs that there is a problem with my iPad?
Naturally, the condition of your iPad 2 will deteriorate with time. Several warning signs show your iPad 2 has an issue, some are as follows:
- Applications keep crashing
- Battery life is draining quicker than usual
- Low storage and compatibility issues
- Some buttons on your phone are unresponsive (eg. home, volume, lock buttons)
- Display issues or screen freezing
- iPad is not turning on.
These issues may occur because your iPad is old and needs replacing, but more common issues such as broken buttons or screens are easily fixable by replacing broken parts.
Can I repair my iPad 2 myself?
You can repair a range of issues on your iPad 2 yourself, by simply replacing the parts that are not working.
You should only replace your iPad 2 parts with original brand items - we stock real Apple brand products and the tools you need to replace them. We have how-to guides available with lots of information to teach you how to do this.
We understand not all our customers are confident in fitting our parts themselves, that's why we offer a fitting service to do it for you.
There may obviously be more complex issues that can't be fixed with spare parts -determining this is the first step, and we're happy to help you do this!
