The future smartphones of 2022/23.
It's almost impossible nowadays to keep up with the constant evolution and pacing of the smartphone industry. With numerous brands trying to keep up with the big players in different market sections of smartphones, there always seems to be speculation and rumours on the horizon. That's why we have a list of all the future proposed smartphones that whilst not officially confirmed, are heavily rumoured.
iPhone 15 Range

The iPhone 14 is of course still a brand new device but as with all of Apple releases, the next generation rumours have already started. The already known feature of a switch from Lightning to USB-C has been confirmed which now means a more universal change to charging ports. Speculation has been focused around Apple switching from physical buttons to solid-state/haptic buttons. The design would be similar to the non-physical home button on the iPhone 7, which used a Taptic Engine to simulate a button press with vibrations. The next models will most likely land at a similar time to the previous launch of the 14 series, which was in September/October 2023.
Samsung Galaxy S23

The Galaxy S23 phones are most likely to be released on February 17th 2023, according to the latest rumours which bring their announcement likely to the first week of February. Since Samsung's usual Wednesday Unpacked schedule falls on February 1st, the actual release date would fall two Fridays after, on February 17, if previous launches from Samsung are any indication. The biggest hardware upgrade that will arrive with the Galaxy S23 series is again expected to be a new 200MP main camera sensor and Samsung will have to bring its A-game to counter the iPhone 14 models. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is supposed to sport the biggest camera sensor on a phone, while it and the S23 as well as the S23+ could shine with faster processing, bigger battery, and better 5G connectivity.
Google Pixel Fold

There have been rumours around the Google Pixel Fold phone since 2019, and the company still hasn't launched one or even confirmed that there's a release any time in the near future. Given Google works to make Android friendly for foldable phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, there's an argument that the search giant doesn't need to make its own folding phone. But a version of a foldable phone from Google's complete own perspective is still a very exciting prospect and one that hasn't been completely forgotten about!
OnePlus 11 Pro

Reports suggest OnePlus will be going for a brand new design on its OnePlus 11 Pro. Upon glance, the camera on the rear of the phone will be one giant circle, rather than the traditional square module on current OnePlus phones. It is also rumoured to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 16GB and a 5000mAh battery with 100W charging. Most likely to hit a release date around the early stages of 2023, after the OnePlus 10 pro was released back in March this year.
Honor Magic5

The Magic5 phone looks set to be built around the success of the Magic V foldable phone. Original reports that surfaced in early September suggested that the Magic5 series from Honor would release between March and April 2023. But after Honor's announcement of their global launch event taking place on the 23rd of November could make for an earlier release date.
Moto X40

The X40 has already been heavily rumoured and speculated across social media platforms, and it'll be one of the first phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processors. Motorola's comeback in the smartphone industry has been nothing short of a success, and looks to constantly be a threat with its new innovations upon each flagship release.
